If you’re new here, every month I share how I’m doing with my goals for the year. This includes personal, blogging/business, and of course financial goals. This post holds me accountable to the goals I set every year, but more importantly, it helps my readers to see that having financial goals in place are the key to succeeding with money. If you need help setting financial goals, make sure you read this post here on the steps to setting financial goals.

2017 Personal Goals
Work out 2x a week using these free videos. I’ve changed this goal to the below.
Complete all weekly exercises in the Body Boss program – I’ve fallen behind this week on this…
Complete Crystal’s 15 Days to a Healthier You Challenge Done.
I’m spending the rest of this year honing my French speaking skills. Didn’t make great progress with this one this month…
2017 Marriage Goals
Write one love note to Pat every month. Done.
Spend one hour every day with just Pat. Totally failed at this one….
Take one secluded vacation with Pat this year Done! We stayed overnight at Lake Lanier Islands and did the zipline across the lake! It was a nice little break from the normal flow of things and a great way to celebrate our anniversary this year!
At first, I wasn’t the biggest fan of this dress from my box from StitchFix, but then it grew on me and now I wear it all.the.time! I wore this out to dinner when my husband and I were at Lake Lanier which was great because the material breathes really well and it was 96 degrees with a heat index of 102 when we went out to eat. 😳
2017 Mothering Goals
Take my children on a fun outing once-a-month (We took the kids out on our neighbor’s boat for a really fun day at the lake – where we ended up getting stormed on – it was a great lesson in relying on God to get us through. Me and the kids prayed that God would provide us with a safe place to keep somewhat dry, and sure enough in a marina we were passing, there was an open slit so we pulled the boat in the slit and waited out the insane storm. 🙏 )
Set aside dedicated time for help with schoolwork and arts/crafts Done this month. We made homemade ice cream (so good!), French yogurt cake (another delicious yummy snack!) and did the green penny experiment. It was super fun! (P.S. If you’re wondering how I come up with things to do with my kids, be sure to check out Susan’s Summer Survival Calendar. It’s what I use to plan out our activities!)
2017 Spiritual Goals
I did really great last year with my spiritual goals so I’m not setting any crazy goals for this year. 🙂
Pray 3x a Day (Slowly getting better at this one…)
Complete 3 Bible Studies outside of the Women’s Bible Study Group at church. I’m working my way through my 3rd one from She Reads Truth!

I love your goals. Wondering if you post income reports like Making Sense of Cents? I saw you took the Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing Course. I am considering taking it. 🙂
Jessi Fearon says
Hi Selena! I don’t publicly post income reports anymore after the advice given to me by my CPA. But I do send out a monthly email to my blogging email list that contains my income and expense report. 🙂

Congratulations on a great month!!
I’m making good progress on some of my goals, and dragging on some others. I also changed one to something more sustainable, so I’m hoping that one will work out better.

Missed you at lunch! I hope to see you soon!! We put our house on the market back in May and there have been zero takers. So … I guess financial plan B whatever that is. Honestly this year is whizzing by so I’m collecting my thoughts for 2018. Thanks for sharing!!
